It is best to arrive to the Tiete Terminal at least 40 minutes before your buses scheduled departure because you will need to redeem your ticket at the Ticket Desk of your chosen company. While collecting your ticket, hey will also tell you which is the boarding platform you need to wait at for your bus.  The buses do have basic onboard bathrooms, and they do make rest stops along the way where buying food and drink is possible. Airconditioning can be very strong, so take something warm to put on incase, even if the temperature outside the bus is very warm.

The trip travels along the southern coastal highway and stop at major cities along the way such as Curitiba, Joinville, and Camboru.  You know you are arriving when you begin to cross the long bridge to the island, and the terminal is not far on the other side, located close to downtown Florianopolis.  With so many beaches to explore, not many people go to Florianopolis to see the city though.  Unfortunately getting to the beaches requires further local buses, taxis, or even Uber now.  Be warned, Florianopolis traffic can be crazy.

To purchase a ticket online directly you may need a CPF number which is like a Brazilian Tax File number.
